Sumida Fireworks Festival

Visit Tokyo during the summer months to experience the Sumida River Fireworks Festival, one of Japan's oldest and largest fireworks displays. Tens of thousands of fireworks are shot into the night sky as dazzling colors illuminate the entire city as visitors line the river in an attempt to get the best vantage point. Said to have dated as far back as the 1700's, this event celebrates the cool summer nights while bringing the large community together for one grand festival.
