18-year-old lefthander Yusei Kikuchi drew many of the major league teams' attention. However, after talking to at least eight teams, including The Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Rangers, Yankees, Mets, Indians and Mariners, this young star decided to stay home and begin his pro career in Japan.
Kikuchi, whose fastball has been clocked as high as 96 mph, said in the interview on Oct. 25, "I'll try to take on the world once I have become the number one pitcher in Japan."
