
The year 2010 marks the 1300th anniversary of the founding of Nara Heijo-kyo Capital, the first international capital of Japan. To celebrate this special year, various events and festivals featuring unique attractiveness and the character of each area will take place. Nara also introduces sightseeing routes that enable visitors to explore and discover the varied attractions featuring national treasures and other historical and cultural resources of various areas in the prefecture.
