China Airlines will begin new flights from JFK (New York) to KIX (Osaka) on April 28th 2011, as a new stopover location of the New York – Taipei route, replacing Anchorage. This will be the first time for the Kansai International Airport (KIX) in its 16 years history to have non-stop flights from the U.S. East Coast.
KIX is located in Osaka, Japan’s third largest city which serves as a commercial and industrial hub for western Japan. It is also a gateway to Kansai area, which includes Kyoto and Nara, centuries-old former capitals full of cultural and historical sites. The new route will give tourists more flexibility to arrange their itineraries.
New York – Kansai round trips will be scheduled three per week. The flight schedules are as follows (Please note that schedules are subject to change).
CI JFK-KIX-TPE schedule as of Feb. 2011
JFK 2:10am - KIX 5:30am / KIX 8:00am - TPE 9:50am
