Registration starts Feb. 10 inviting 160 teams to compete!
Marunouchi’s long distance relay race returns for a fourth time this year on Sunday, March 27, inviting 160 teams of four to compete. The competition requires each runner to start at Sakurada Gate and run the entire length of the five-kilometer course, circling the outer garden of the Imperial Palace before passing the baton to their teammate (for a total of 20 kilometers per team).
The event is open to runners working in the Marunouchi area and their friends. Teams will be divided into three categories, there will be all male and all women teams as well as mixed men’s and women’s teams—with prizes for all participations.
Registration is ¥4,200 per team, and the application period is Feb. 10 through March 9. A portion of the entry fee will be donated to the Chiyoda Tourist Association to aid in a campaign to improve manners of joggers at the increasingly popular running site.
