"100+1 day Travel Volunteer" in Japan. Apply before 31st July!

"Travel Volunteer in Japan" offers Travel Volunteer candidates the chance to visit Japan from North to South and report the reality of the situation in Japan to the world.

Apply before 31st July, 2011!

Starting the journey on September 15, 2011, the selected TRAVEL VOLUNTEER will visit all of Japan's 47 prefectures and share impressions through a dedicated travel blog and through social networks. All travel and accommodation expenses, including international airfares will be covered by the project.

Candidates are invited to apply by July 31, 2011 and international support is also sought for this non-profit initiative, whether in the form of a financial or non-financial contribution. Detailed information is available on the project's website: www.travelvolunteer.net and Facebook.

Japan's tourism industry has been struggling since March 11, although many cities in the country have no damage and are functioning normally. The project aims to show the world that Japan remains a safe destination while helping to promote international tourism in support of its weakened economy.

"After seeing the coverage about Japan in the media, we felt some important information was missing: although it encountered a terrible disaster which claimed thousands of lives, Japan as a country was NOT entirely destroyed. We decided to create this project to show that Japan still is a safe & wonderful country to visit and promote it amongst the world's travelers.", says Hiroshi Kuchiki, a founder of The Real Japan – Magellan Resorts & Trust.
