I have visited Japan annually for the past 5 years. I love Tokyo and Shirakawa-go because they show the beautiful contrast within the culture: high rises vs. 300 year old minshukus. Both are intriguing and beautiful; artful and balanced; and the food amazing. I feel at home and welcome.
