Submit to the Japan Photo Contest and Win a Trip to Japan


New York, NY, October 9, 2012: Share the picturesque Japanese views online! In the era of visual materials penetrating daily life all over the world, Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) launched a global Japan photo contest over SNS in September. Titled as "Share your WOW!," the online campaign showcases snapshots of memorable moments from participants' trip to Japan. Submitted photos are all shared with friends over the campaign website and Facebook, and anybody can vote for the best photograph in 6 different themes; cool, delicious, happy, beautiful, funny and miracle. Participants vote by clicking "wow" buttons for the best photograph, and JTA will crown the most "wow-ed" photograph.

The photo showcase also functions as the medium to connect global Japan fans and potential travelers with first-hand views from travelers who recently traveled to Japan and share the excitements. The submission deadline is February 15, 2013, and JTA will choose 6 winners to invite to Japan for the award ceremony on March 15, 2013. The top prize is an exclusive one day-load experience at Tsuruga Castle in Aizu-Wakamatsu of the Tohoku Region.

JTA offers a few other prizes complied with the Tohoku Region to appeal the unprecedented prompt recovery from last year's natural disaster. This campaign is expected to update attractions of today's Japan in the word-of-mouth effect among general public.
