Today's Kyoto is rich in both traditional and contemporary attractions. Take the below list of the events and facilities to experience the best of Kyoto in spring and summer.

Gion Matsuri Festival
This is Kyoto's Yasaka Shrine's festival from July 1st every year, and very known as one of the largest and most famous festivals in Japan for its history and the magnificent beauty. For about a month, streets around Yasaka Shrine are turned into the ancient time in Kyoto. There are several rituals and events that have been inherited for centuries. The events are conducted in the same fashion as centuries ago, with people in traditional costumes parading along the traditional music.

Machiya style restaurants and cafés
Machiya is the old style Kyoto townhouses and have been maintained today in the original condition. Some are converted into restaurants, cafés and tearooms, and some are now nostalgic accommodation facilities. Enjoy the traditional cityscape of Kyoto from inside Machiya as well.
