TOMAMU:
Japan's winter wonderland is here: The large open central
Hokkaido turns to Ice Village with varieties of beautiful icy experiences from
ice hotel to ice bar.
Within a couple of hour driving from Hokkaido's
capital Sapporo, Tomamu Alpha Resort takes advantage of
serene lakes and open spaces, featuring unique relaxation to icy experience in
winter, and from adventure programs and dynamic sports activities to
breathtaking dining experience. The winter arctic weather over Hokkaido
creates perfect icy field for the ice playground for family travelers and
more: Ice Village, a hotel room built with crystal ice bricks, Snow Garden
Café with bonfires and s'more tables, Ice Bar inspired by Scandinavian way to
get warm with alcohol, Ice Chapel for mystique yet elegant wedding ceremonies,
and Atelier of Ice for ice
sculpture workshops. These all transform to different experience in
summer: The Chapel becomes Water Chapel designed by Tadao Ando with
breathtaking views of green forests and water behind the panoramic glass wall,
the mystique branch looking over "the cloud sea" which appears in the right
weather and temperature, and golf courses facilitate children to adults of any
level. Although Tomamu is rather inland, the Wave Pool housed in the glass
dome is unforgettable summer family experience.
